FAQ
The adjustment of the saddle’s height is only related to the leg’s length, and the length of the top tube (T/T), namely the length from the seat tube to the head tube, should be included into consideration for optimal biking comfort. Everyone has different height, leg length and arm length, so does everyone have different riding styles. With a long top tube length, riders need to bend their back and arms forward, which leads to an improper riding posture. This in turn may cause muscle soreness on the back and arms. For this reason, only when both the saddle height and the top tub length are adjusted simultaneously can we find the optimum frame size that fits riders best.
It is quite common to see a 130cm tall child riding a 20” folding bike whose saddle is adjusted to the lowest height. The 20” folding bike is designed for adults 160cm tall or above, as it has a longer top tube length. For children to ride adult bikes, they have to bend their body forward and raise their arms high to grip the handlebar even when the saddle height is lowered. It is very “unfriendly” for children to ride in such an improper posture.
The 12”/14”/16”/20” child bikes all have a one-size frame. However, as children grow and develop, their bikes need to be replaced again and again, resulting in the increase of expenditure and the burden of the environment. Especially for children 135cm-150cm tall, neither the child bikes or the adult ones fit them. GIATEX FIT stretchable design provides the best solution that allows children to adjust the length of the bike frame gradually with their growth, and help them maintain a proper riding posture.
When riding a bike, we should first adopt a leisure, commute or sport riding mode depending on our purpose.
Leisure riding mode – Shorten the length of the top tube (T/T) and then your back will be straightened naturally and your arms will bend naturally to grip the handlebar; lower the saddle so that you may reach the ground with your feet; lower the speed gear and raise the handlebar so that you may enjoy an easy pedaling tour on flat city streets and find your perfect riding experience.
Commute riding mode – Adjust the length of the top tube (T/T) between leisure and sport riding modes, and then your back will be leaning slightly forward and your arms will be bent to grip the handlebar naturally; raise the saddle slightly for easy pedaling with your feet; shift to a medium speed gear and ride at medium speed in city area. To accelerate the riding speed in commute riding mode, you should straighten your back a little bit (not leaning forward) to achieve an easy cycling experience.
Sport riding mode – Increase the length of the top tube (T/T) and bend your back moderately to reduce wind resistance; bend your arms naturally so that you can grip the handlebar; raise the saddle, lower the handlebar, and shift to a high speed gear for an efficient pedaling. The purpose of sport riding mode is to ride to the destination at a higher speed. Since the slope and wind resistance are two big challenges, you should ride by lowering your center of gravity, which is leaning your back forward, to achieve efficient pedaling at a higher speed.
For different purposes, people would generally wear different shoes, such as leather shoes or sport shoes, or even shoes with specific functions, including jogging shoes, badminton shoes, basketball shoes, hiking shoes, golf shoes, etc. Because shoes are easy to store, people may have several kinds of shoes for various functions.
Since bikes are larger in size and require more storage space, most people buy only one bike at the most. However, when we have various purposes of biking like leisure, commuting or sport, it is impossible to take a single bike to meet all our needs.
We often see people riding a mountain bike or road bike for short-distance shopping on city streets or for leisure activities in the suburb. The frame geometrics of the mountain bike or road bike is set for sport riding, with a longer T/T, requiring riders to lean forward when biking. Most people who bike for leisure would struggle riding a mountain bike or road bike, as lowering their center of gravity while biking may lead to muscle soreness on their back and arms. On the other hand, the frame geometrics of a leisure bike is set with a shorter T/T so that people may ride at a lower speed, with their back straightened. However, this is not ideal for people with sport riding purposes because they can’t lean forward to ride at a high speed.
Unless you have large space at home to park several leisure and sport bikes for you and your family, it is quite difficult to buy one single bike to meet all your needs. Choosing GIATEX FIT adjustable bikes, riders may fine tune the length of the top tube (T/T) at any time, with Giatex’s unique stretchable device. A shorter T/T length is suitable for relaxing leisure riding, while a longer T/T length is fit for sport riding. Simply by adjusting your riding posture, you may alternate the stress points of muscle nerves during a long tour to ride more comfortably. GIATEX FIT is now the only bike for people with different riding styles and also the only one that can be customized to satisfy comprehensive needs. With a GIATEX FIT, you may explore the world freely and comfortably.
The small frame with a shorter T/T length and the large frame with a longer T/T length are directly related to our back and arms positions while riding, which in turn determines if we can bike comfortably for leisure riding.
In leisure riding mode, it is recommended to adjust the small frame with a shorter T/T length (48cm-55cm) so that your back will be straightened and your arms slightly bent to ensure comfort during the ride. Within the range of 48cm-55cm, the T/T length may be adjusted according to your height to prevent the handlebar from touching your knees when making a turn on the road. Try to find the frame size that best suits you and experience the comfort and pleasure of leisure riding.
We can be more flexible on the frame size with leisure riding mode. Just like wearing slippers or T-shirts in the house, it feels alright whether we wear a bigger or a smaller size. However, for sport riding mode, we need to be more careful with the frame size. It is like wearing sports shoes or suits, we need them to be both well-fitted and effective.
In sport riding mode, it is recommended to adjust the large frame with a longer T/T length (56cm-64cm) so that you may ride the bike by leaning forward slightly to reduce wind resistance for efficient pedaling. Within the range of 56cm-64cm, the T/T length may be adjusted according to your height for the frame size that best suits you. Except for professional riders, people usually suffer from muscle soreness on their back and arms during sport riding because they have to lean forward to bike. GIATEX FIT can solve this problem by allowing you to freely fine tune the length of the top tube (T/T) so that the stress points on your muscle nerves can be alternated during riding.
Note: The recommended values specified above are provided for consumer’s reference.
Consumers may freely choose their favorite riding style depending on personal preference.

Long-time riding will inevitably lead to muscle soreness and spasms. Riders may freely fine tune the top tube on Giatex FIT to alter their riding posture, which will also change the stress point of muscle nerve, reducing problems with discomfort.
No matter which bike you buy, your bike would have a proper and yet fix-sized frame. However, long-time riding will inevitably lead to muscle soreness and spasms. While the frame size is fixed, all you can do is to adjust the saddle height, which does not allow you to change postures when you bike. Consequently, the stress point of muscle nerve on your back and arms can not be altered to reduce your discomfort.
For long-distance riding, you may switch to leisure riding mode that allows you to enjoy the scenery along the road with low-speed cycling. There are challenging steep slopes or flat, straight roads for sprinting in some places, where you may switch to sport riding mode to ride by leaning forward to reduce wind resistance and increase pedaling efficiency for pleasure of high-speed cycling. With GIATEX FIT stretchable design, riders may fine tune the top tube on GIATEX FIT at any time to alter their riding posture, which will also change the stress point of muscle nerve, reducing discomfort resulted from long-distance, long-time cycling.
GIATEX FIT B is an entry series designed exclusively for children. Up to 20”, the bikes are lightweight, low load-bearing, and have smaller stretchable internal/external tubes.
GIATEX FIT P/T/X series are advanced adult bikes. All GIATEX FIT series are stretchable. Each model has at least 12cm adjustable length of T/T to meet comprehensive consumer needs. Each model is also available in various styles and wheel diameters. Once you find a model that meets your height requirement, you may choose a bike with large wheel diameters for long-distance (100km above) riding, or one with small wheel diameters for short-distance riding.
Giatex FIT’s down tube with larger tube diameter provides unprecedented safety protection.
Our crash-safety protection with dumb-proof, fool-proof design prevents users from any danger associated with improper manipulation. Even when the frame is not secured properly, the downward pressure of the frame will lock the stretchable frame, protecting the frame from crashing as the bike is moving. Users have to release the downward pressure of the frame in advance and then they can easily change the frame size.
When the frame size is reduced to the minimum, there is still a safety distance between the pedal and front wheel. This avoids any danger arising from improper operation.
After being locked, our unique anti-torsion structure makes the frame more robust and helps the bike withstand the challenges of drawing or pressing when cornering.
With the test condition set for the top tube (T/T) at 640mm length, we have passed SGS test and EU standards: ISO 4210-6.
GIATEX bike frame is made with standard specifications so that riders may refit their GIATEX bikes as they wish. As a rider grips the flat handlebar at different points from where he/she grips the drop handlebar, a fixed-size frame can’t accommodate this difference between the drop and flat handlebar. With GIATEX’s unique stretchable design, riders may adjust the length of the top tube, in accordance with their body figure, to enjoy the biking experiences provided by both the flat handlebar and drop handlebar.
